Early Life:
Raul Mendez was born in Mexico and raised in San Antonio. When he was two years old, his family moved to the US for better opportunities. As a student, he says he was shy and withdrawn; he didn’t play any sports, didn’t involve himself in anything, and had no social life.
Raul’s father has been in trucking all his life. He started as a truck driver and eventually wanted to become an owner-operator and buy a truck. Raul was so confused when he first started that he was unsure whether or not he should follow in his father’s footsteps and become a truck driver or pursue a nursing career like his uncle. After considering both options, he decided to become a Registered Nurse. However, he found that it was not for him and quit after attending college for two years.
Raul began his trucking career with his father, who taught him how to drive a truck. Soon after, he became a part of his family’s business, Texas Chrome Transport. The company focuses on the transportation of frac sand for the Oil & Gas Industry.

In a Truck N’ Hustle fashion, Raul Mendez gives this wise final thought. “Stay focused and stay hungry! Never forget to be humble either – it’s important for success in any industry or field.”
